A Vietnam veteran, Ray James served over 20 years in the Royal Australian Navy, with another 26 years in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. He also served on the Transport Investigation Branch and NSW Police Force as a Weapons Trainer. Ray has held senior positions at sub-Branch and District Council levels. He is also Chair of RSL Custodian, Vice President of the NSW Branch of the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (VVAA) and was elected President of RSL NSW in 2020. Ray was honoured with the award of OAM in 2020 for his service to Veterans and their families.
Pauline Digges James OAM
State Coordinator RSL Auxiliaries
Began volunteering as a young girl helping her grandmother raise funds for the RSL Women’s Auxiliary in Coonamble. Pauline has continued as a volunteer ever since. In 2009 Pauline joined the Ingleburn Auxiliary and recruited others to make it one of the largest auxiliaries in NSW. Then in 2011 she joined the state council for the auxiliaries and went on to become the president – now known as the State Coordinator. Pauline was also responsible for the very first Navy playground at Waterloo and also coordinated the running of a large number of playgroups for veterans’ children operating between Campbelltown and Liverpool. To add to this, Pauline also did volunteer work in the electorate offices of our local politicians. In 2019 Pauline was awarded the Macquarie Fields ‘Woman of the Year’ Award. 2020 saw Pauline James being honoured with her OAM for services to the Veteran Community.
