What Is Trust And How to Build It
Prior to commencing his business advisory and academic career, Dr Michael CHERRY had significant senior management experience, at GM and MD level, across manufacturing and service industries. His strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, coupled with formal business and technical tertiary qualifications, have allowed him to achieve significant revenue and profitability growth through his career. He has worked in senior management, executive director and non-executive director roles in labour-hire, recruitment, aluminium, timber, other manufacturing industries as well as the NFP sector. A strong strategic mind-set, coupled with an ability to lead senior and middle management teams have been the keys to Michael’s commercial success. Through his career, Michael has demonstrated his capability to effect change, turnaround, re-engineer and grow businesses both organically and via acquisition.
Outside his professional career, Michael was a founding director of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, established by Professor Charles Teo to fund advances in brain tumour treatment and research. Michael also lectures on business at several Australian and international universities.
Michael’s presentation to the Ingleburn Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be on business-to-business (B2B) trust, what it is and how you build it. The presentation distils the findings of Michael’s doctoral research, investigating trust in the relationship between Australia’s public accountants and their small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients, which also has implications for broader B2B relationships.
